A Community Council is a voluntary organisation set up by statute by the Local Authority and run by local residents to act on behalf of its area. As the most local tier of elected representation, Community Councils play an important role in local democracy. Community Councils are comprised of people who care about their community and want to make it a better place to live.
Feughdee West Community Council (FWCC) facilitate a wide range of activities which promote the well-being of the area. We bring local people together to help make things happen and promote the identity of their community. We can advise, petition, influence and advocate numerous causes and cases of concern on behalf of local people, including:
FWCC is one of the strongest means of becoming more involved with our area and we hope this website can act as a first point of call for those who may wish to become more involved, or just gather information.
23rd March 2020 Update: Please note that the Community Council Hall Public meetings will be cancelled until further notice due to the ongoing Corona virus concerns. These will be resumed when guidance indicates its safe to do so. In the meantime the Community Council will continue to hold web based meetings on the scheduled dates but at this stage due to IT limitations these will not be open to the public. Any issues of community concern can still be raised directly by email and these will be discussed at the CC web meeting.
FWCC meets at 19:30 the final Thursday of every month, rotating between the Inchmarlo and Strachan community halls.

Meetings are open session and an excellent opportunity to voice your suggestions or concerns whether they relate to planning, transport, general community issues or to apply for windfarm funding. The council exists to represent the local community and the greater the active participation at the meetings the more successful we will be.
